As Christmas creeps ever so closer and we sign off to enjoy the festivities, the Lucid Group conducted some internal research on their top 10 Christmas films they feel everyone needs to watch before the year comes to an end!

10. Daddy’s Home 2
Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, and Mel Gibson feature in this festive family feel-good movie where now they have finally gotten used to each other’s existence as father and stepfather to Wahlberg’s 3 kids, Brad and Dusty now deal with their intrusive fathers during the Christmas holiday.
Packed with laughter, this is a very easy, yet humorous watch with the whole family.
9. Home Alone 2
One year after 8-year-old Kevin finds himself left home alone and faced with two pesky burglars, he accidentally boards a flight to New York City and gets separated from his family who are on their way to Miami.
He then bumps into his two old enemies, who plan to rob a toy store. Featuring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, and Tim Curry.
8. The Night Before
Joseph Gordan-Levitt stars in this Christmas meets comedy film featuring Seth Rogan and Anthony Mackie who play 3 best friends; Ethan, Isaac, and Chris, who have celebrated Christmas Eve every year together.
However, things are about to change when Isaac and Chris decide to end their decade-long tradition. If you’re looking for laughter this festive period, this one is a must see!
7. The Polar Express
Tom Hanks stars in the well-loved children’s Christmas book, The Polar Express, as a train conductor on a magical train heading for the North Pole.
On that train features a doubting young boy who embarks on a journey to meet Santa Clause but experiences many people that change his perspective on Christmas and provokes self-discovery, making this journey a memorable one. A brilliant Christmas film for all ages to enjoy.

Two girls from different countries swap homes for the holidays to get away from their relationship issues.

However, he learns about a hostage situation in an office building and his wife is one of the hostages.

Nine intertwined stories explore the complexities of the one emotion that connects us all: Love.
This is one impressive cast line-ups: the late Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightly, Hugh Grant and many more stars.
Love Actually is one of those very few Christmas films that year on year manages to be heart-warming, relatable and memorable all in one!
3. The Grinch
The very talented and witty Jim Carrey stars as The Grinch in this well-known festive film, released in 2000, all about a Christmas crazed town called Whoville.
The film follows a lovely little girl called Cindy Lou Who, who tries to befriend The Grinch and help him grow a heart after being outcasted as a child and bullied to run away.
With the help of his loyal companion, Max, The Grinch almost steals Christmas, but Cindy wins over his trust, and he makes Christmas whole again for the Who’s. A must watch film every year!
2. Home Alone
Be careful what you wish for… after 8-year-old Kevin McCallister acts up the night before a family holiday, his mother makes him sleep in the attic where he wishes to have no family. The next day arrives, and everybody forgets poor Kevin and leaves without him, leaving him to believe his wish came true. With many twists and turns during his Christmas movie, it’s one for the whole family to watch this year. Be careful parents, your kids might get some prank ideas!

A classic family feel good Christmas film which tells the story of Buddy the Elf (played by Will Ferrell) on the search of finding his biological father in New York City after being taken in by Santa and his Elves when he was a baby. This festive film is full of laughter, life lessons and fun. A film for all to enjoy!
