MS Access Support/Development Engineer(s)

 

3 months +

Remote working with occasional site visits required (London / Birmingham / Bristol)

 

We are currently recruiting for Engineers who can provide Microsoft Access application support enabling our customer to deliver their technology strategy according to NHS and GDS/NHSX Architecture and Technology principles.

 

The successful applicants will provide experienced Microsoft Access development and support with excellent communication, collaboration skills, and be able to articulate themselves, clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels. You will provide advice, guidance, and fix capabilities, across design, configuration, integration, development, testing, security, maintenance, and monitoring for Microsoft Access Applications.

 

Our customer has a known estate of circa 100 MS Access applications, and such scope has the potential to further increase. Many of which will need upgrading over the period of the contract. Support scope will include Microsoft Access based applications, and associated components including forms, queries, macros, VBA code, VB random access files, and reports across a variety of Microsoft Access versions.

 

The engagement may include:

  • Incident and Defect Management
  • Development activities
  • Access Controls
  • Data Integrity & Audit
  • Upgrade support to the latest MS Access version
  • Advice and guidance only for future roadmap planning in alignment with customer strategy

 

Expected standards

  • The successful applicants will work according to appropriate delivery methodologies and meet the GDS service standard https://www.gov.uk/service-manual/service-standard.
  • Work to a consistent set of standards and share knowledge and experience with NHS.
  • Bring their experience to deliver controlled change and stability to the existing Microsoft Access estate.
