Digital Innovation Architect (SC/DV Cleared)

12 months + Based in Andover / Surrey £600-650pd (Outside IR35)

 

We are currently recruiting for an SC/DV Cleared Digital Innovation Architect for a defence customer working on a military programme.

Our customer recognises the critical role of Innovation in sustaining competitiveness and driving digital transformation growth. To effectively harness and leverage innovative ideas and technologies the Digital Innovation Architect will lead the expedient identification and trialing of emerging digital capability into approved digital transformation programmes and projects using a 'learn fast' approach to concepts.

 

The individual will ensure the customer continue to leverage business benefits from their innovation activities by using a broad ability to better bridge the industry and military use of technologies, solutions, and services. This role will be responsible for guiding and orchestrating the innovation processes across various business units, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals. An understanding of military operational activity is required as part of this role.

 

The organisation are embracing a culture of innovation to both realise efficiencies and, more importantly, force optimisation. Digital transformation innovation requires an expedient delivery of capability into service with adoption of a 'learn fast' approach to concepts. This role will be working with the Digital Transformation programme to accelerate and maximise the transition to "Digital by Default" aim for the programme.

 

The Innovation architect will lead the design and implementation of innovation strategies, frameworks and process that foster creativity, drive product and service development, and enhance the organisations overall innovative capabilities. Working closely with cross functional teams to identify opportunities, develop concepts and guide projects from ideation to execution.

Innovation is a key ingredient for Digital Transformation and there are a number of key initiatives that are already underway, supported by the Innovation Architect. In order to delivery key savings measures challenges, innovation will play a key role in providing the mechanisms which will allow many of these cost savings to be achieved.

 

Innovation is also driving a key change in security, both physical and digital. At the forefront of this is the Innovation Architect and the new technologies that will be reviewed, trailed and proof of concepts delivered through the Innovation workstream.

The Innovation Architect is also crucial to deliver the organizations commitments to the ‘Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012’ in particular recuing the environmental impact digital services can deliver

 

• Scanning and evaluation of technologies, processes, and services. Researching and evaluating emerging technologies and trends relevant to Army/Defence. Assessing the feasibility and potential impact of new technologies on existing systems and services. Identify areas where digital transformation can drive business value and competitive advantage.
• Solution Architecting. Provide insights that can be adopted by Digital transformation programmes and manage the solutions through to concept.
• Larkhill SMARTBase. Develop, trial and assess innovative solutions and services within a SMARTbase concept to drive awareness and encourage wider adoption through Project IRONSIDE. This key delivery will provide evidence and ongoing exploitation of the concepts as this is formed into a potential accelerator and shown as an exemplar of exploitation of the digital fabric of transformation.
• Larkhill Digital Twin. Create a dynamic and highly detailed digital representation of Larkhill which will serve as a valuable tool for base planning, infrastructure management and community engagement.
• Innovation Business Case Development. Working with identified business owner to secure funding from Defence Innovation funding lines
