JOB DESCRIPTION:

SC/DV Cleared - Data Scientist / Engineer - 6 months + Remote-working

The role profile sits at the intersection of data analysis, data science and, to some extent, data engineering.

 

Preliminary Overview of Service:

The customer, a central government department, is looking at using their existing business rules engine to speed up a service by automatically routing more complex applications to more senior team members

The data work is around identifying which business rules to use to do this routing – so, which business rules will work on the full cohort of cases for a particular route. It involves working with an extremely complex dataset that is stored in their person-centric data library.

 

Key Skills / Experience:

• Ability to conduct analysis from complex databases using SQL (must-have) and/or Python (desirable) using industry best practices in terms of coding structure and standards
• Ability to conduct data exploration by linking SQL databases to PowerBi (desirable)
• Ability to identify key trends and communicate the impact of the analysis to non-technical audiences and other DDaT and analytical colleagues (must have)
• Ability to apply quality assurance (QA) methodologies to the analysis and compile documentation (must have). Awareness of AQA methodologies (desirable).
• Experience of collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence and Git (desirable)
• Experience working with a variety of technical disciplines such as business analysts, delivery specialists and data architects (must have)
