Service Transition Manager – 3 Month Contract – Remote
The Service Desk Service Transition Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful transition of IT services from the development and testing phases into live production environments. This role ensures that all service-related processes, tools, and resources are aligned to support a seamless handover to the Service Desk, while maintaining service continuity, quality, and customer satisfaction
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the transition of new or changed services into the operational environment, with a focus on the Service Desk’s readiness.
- Oversee the coordination of activities between Service Desk, IT Operations, Development, and other business units during the service transition.
- Ensure all necessary documentation (service runbooks, knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides) is created, validated, and handed over to the Service Desk prior to go-live.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks during the transition phase to avoid disruptions in service delivery.
- Collect feedback from Service Desk teams and end-users to identify opportunities for improvement in the service transition process.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and optimize the Service Desk’s involvement in service transitions.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including IT Service Management (ITSM) teams, Service Delivery Managers, Project Managers, and other business units.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders on the status of service transitions, including key milestones, risks, and issues.
