Job Profile
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Automation and DevOps engineer to support Digital Transformation of the organisation’s operational services on an initial 10-month contract. This role will play a pivotal part in automating a well-established ITIL Service Catalogue for a world class digital operations support function. You will need to be capable of designing, developing, testing automated services that are secure, robust, and maintainable. These services will need to be delivered at pace and with right level of governance. You will need to collaborate comfortably with stakeholders, Architects, security specialists and other team members.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Transformation of manual tasks automated self-service requests using C#, Azure DevOps and microservices.
- Ensure adherence to development processes, governance and best practice.
- Employ strong analytical skills to swiftly solve complex problems and challenges.
- Configure and deploy Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code.
- Continually improve and refine operational processes using an iterative approach.
- Work in an agile manner to meet the changing needs of stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
- Strong Competence in C# software Development.
- Experience in all aspect of product development life cycle.
- Experience is creating unit tests with .net and xUnit.
- Strong Experience in using Git as a version control system.
- Experience in using Terraform to deploy and configure Azure resources.
- Experience in scripting using PowerShell.
- Proficiency in the use of Azure DevOps and experience in creating CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in automated configuration and package management.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of ITIL principles.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow APIs and integration.
- Experience in using Sonarqube.
- Experience with Ansible and/or Chocolatey
