JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lead Technical Architect (SC Cleared)

• 6 months +
• Remote-working (occasional site visit to London Office)

 

Purpose of the Role:

As the Lead Technical Architect, you will be central to our journey toward digital service delivery. You will work across multiple projects and teams, addressing problems that require broad architectural thinking. You will be the primary point of contact for technical requirements and automation design alongside our multi-role squads. This role involves guiding projects through each phase to align with user needs, system requirements, security, organizational goals, and feasibility evaluation. You'll also collaborate with diverse teams, communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and providing mentoring and leadership to fellow architects.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Design: Create optimal technical designs through an iterative process, aligning user needs within system requirements, security, and organizational objectives.
• Solution Architecture: Lead the design and review processes for new solutions and services, ensuring ‘Secure by Design’ principles are integrated into technical designs.
• Technical Assurance: Provide technical guidance and assurance to Business Analysts.
• Documentation: Develop and document technical designs for the integration and implementation of solutions, working across other areas of the organization.
• Recommendations: Present recommendations for technologies or improvements to senior management, based on IT understanding and system needs analysis.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex or high-risk architecture topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Evaluate project success post-implementation and identify best practices and lessons learned.
• Provide feedback to leadership and incorporate best practices into future integration plans.
• Collaborate with squads and participate in agile ceremonies, serving as the main contact for design decisions.
• Apply user-centered thinking to underpin technical solutions.
• Ensure technical solutions align with business values and desired outcomes.
• Adapt communication techniques to your audience.

 

Skills and Experience:

• Multi-Cloud Expertise: Strong skills in AWS, Azure, and Microsoft Power Platform.
• Technical Knowledge: Detailed understanding of technical requirements for implementation, design, and management of associated technologies.
• Architectural Governance: Use architectural governance and assurance to make design decisions and manage technical risks.

 

Essential Criteria:

• Technical Capabilities: Proven multi-cloud technical capabilities with a commitment to cutting-edge designs and innovative solutions.
• Complex Landscapes: Experience navigating complex landscapes, including technologies, third-party suppliers, and cross-government teams.
• Communication: Excellent ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels using various techniques.

 

 

Desirable Criteria:

• Clear Communication: Ability to communicate clearly in a language suitable for various users and understand different channels and formats.
• Agile Frameworks: Experience working with agile frameworks and implementations.
• Integrated Products: Preference for leveraging integrated market products wherever technical and security considerations allow.
