JOB DESCRIPTION:
Service Transition Manager – Nottingham – 6 Month Contract – Inside IR35
We are seeking an experienced Service Transition Manager to lead the successful planning and delivery of new or changed IT services into live operation. This role is essential in ensuring that service transitions, especially involving Service Desk, Device as a Service (DaaS) deployment, and tooling and kit provisioning are seamless, efficient, and meet agreed business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end transition of IT services from development into live environments.
- Own and oversee transition workstreams including service desk cutover, device rollout, tooling setup, and supply chain coordination
- Develop and manage detailed service transition plans, aligning with project delivery milestones.
- Act as a single point of contact for transition activities across multiple business units and suppliers.
- Coordinate and manage stakeholder expectations including service delivery teams, procurement, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure operational readiness by validating that all components (people, processes, technology) are in place before go-live.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in managing Service Transition activities in a mid-to-large-scale IT environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in transitioning Service Desk operations, including tool and provider changes.
- In-depth understanding of Device as a Service (DaaS) models, including procurement, configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with ITSM tooling and end-user computing kit logistics (e.g., laptops, peripherals, accessories).
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, particularly in Service Transition and Service Operations.
- Excellent planning, communication, and risk management capabilities.
